Hot Wheels Wiki says - What-4-2 is a depiction of a single-seat vehicle with four blown engines and the sequel to the original What-4, hence the "What-4-2" nomenclature. On a 2004 poster, this casting is named What 4R.

This casting was retooled in 2014, with the window and engine valve covers separated; the original tool is still used on occasion.
