Wiki says: This casting depicts the appearance of the Batmobile in Detective Comics #48. In its earliest days, the Batmobile was a simple, unassuming red convertible; it made its first appearance in that form in Detective Comics #27 with a slightly different appearance, with said comic also marking the first appearance of Batman. The SDCC casting features figures of Batman and Robin seated in the car, with Batman's cape draping across the rear of the car.

Despite this not actually being the first Batmobile, this car was the first of Batman's personal vehicles to actually be referred to as the Batmobile, which is why Hot Wheels designated it as such. Bryan Benedict, the designer of this casting, said that he exaggerated the nose a little bit compared to that of the comics "to give a sense of speed". He also stated that designing the casting was a bit of a challenge as "the car looks a little bit different in every single panel of the comic", and so he decided to take the "key hero shot" of the car in the comic and replicate that.

Packaging design for the SDCC casting was done by Sam Kok and was inspired by that of the original Hot Wheels packaging from 1968. Graphics were done by Mario Godoy. The base of the casting reads 1941 Batmobile.
